Report: Diana Taurasi's B sample also positive
ANKARA, Turkey (AP) - A Turkish television report says WNBA star Diana Taurasi's backup doping sample has also tested positive for a banned substance.
NTV television did not cite a source for its report Monday. Turkey's basketball federation did not immediately confirm the report.
Taurasi tested positive last month for the stimulant modafinil while playing in Turkey during the WNBA offseason. She had been provisionally suspended by her Turkish club Fenerbahce pending testing of her B sample.
The star of the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury led the WNBA in scoring for a league-record fourth straight year, averaging 22.6 points. The five-time All-Star and two-time WNBA champion signed a multiyear contract extension with the Mercury in August.
