Kings G Quick out for birth of child
LOS ANGELES (AP) -Kings goalie Jonathan Quick has left Los Angeles' road trip for the birth of his first child.
Quick is the NHL leader with 37 victories this season. He returned to Los Angeles on Thursday, and he's likely to miss the Kings' game against the Dallas Stars on Friday night.
Los Angeles recalled goalie Jonathan Bernier from their AHL affiliate in Manchester to suit up alongside backup Erik Ersberg.
The 24-year-old Quick already has established a franchise record for victories this season while playing in 60 of Los Angeles' 66 games, including 19 of the last 20. He has a .909 save percentage and a 2.48 goals-against average.
He was a member of the U.S. Olympic team in Vancouver, but didn't play.
