Blackhawks Sharp sidelined with lower body injury
CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago Blackhawks leading scorer Patrick Sharp is expected to miss a few weeks with a lower body injury.
Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said Tuesday that he hopes to have him back “before the end of the regular season.”
Sharp left the game against the Phoenix Coyotes on Sunday with 1:35 to go in the first period after a knee-on-knee collision with Rostislav Klesla. Sharp had to be helped from the ice and was favoring his left knee.
Quenneville would not confirm that Sharp's knee was injured.
He said he doesn't expect the injuy to be “long-term.”
