Jake Delhomme visiting Browns
CLEVELAND (AP) -Free agent quarterback Jake Delhomme, released last week by Carolina, is visiting the Cleveland Browns.
Agent Rick Smith said Thursday that Delhomme is at Cleveland's team headquarters in Berea, Ohio. The Browns have been shopping for a quarterback, and earlier this week acquired backup Seneca Wallace in a trade and released Derek Anderson.
Delhomme went 58-40 in seven seasons as the Panthers' starter and led them to one Super Bowl appearance. He was cut as the Panthers trimmed salary - Delhomme is still owed $12.5 million - and so they could promote Matt Moore to starter.
Delhomme is coming off his worst season, throwing a career-high 18 interceptions. He broke down in tears last week as he said goodbye to the Panthers and their fans.
