Nets backup guard Ross could miss rest of season
ATLANTA (AP) - New Jersey Nets coach Avery Johnson says backup guard Quinton Ross will likely miss the remainder of the season because of a back injury.
Johnson said before Saturday night's game against the Atlanta Hawks that Ross has “another disc situation” in his back. Ross missed 12 games earlier this season with a back injury. He missed his fifth straight game against the Hawks.
Ross, in his seventh season, is averaging 1.6 points.
Nets star Deron Williams was with the team but was inactive for the fifth straight game with a strained tendon in his right wrist. Johnson said he expects an update on Williams next week.
