McMurray wins Brickyard after Montoya falters

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -Jamie McMurray has become just the third driver to win both the Daytona 500 and The Brickyard in the same season, capitalizing Sunday when teammate Juan Pablo Montoya suffered a second consecutive heartbreak at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Montoya dominated the race for the second straight year, but gave up the lead when he took four tires on a late pit stop. Six cars in front of him took two tires, including McMurray, who restarted as the leader with 18 laps to go Sunday.

Montoya restarted in seventh and tried desperately to charge back through the field. But his aggressive driving caused him to lose control and crash with 15 laps to go.

McMurray then held off Kevin Harvick to claim his second crown jewel victory this year.
