Nova and Garcia win rotation spots
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Ivan Nova and Freddy Garcia will be part of the New York Yankees' rotation and Bartolo Colon will pitch out of the bullpen.
Manager Joe Girardi made the announcement Saturday. The pair will join CC Sabathia, A.J. Burnett and Phil Hughes in the rotation.
Nova went 1-2 with a 4.50 ERA in 10 games, including seven starts for the Yankees last season. Garcia had a 12-6 record in 2010 with the Chicago White Sox.
Colon, who hasn't pitched in the majors since September 2009, earned his spot with an impressive spring training.
Also, left-handed reliever Pedro Feliciano will likely start the regular season on the disabled list due to left upper arm soreness.
