Cook leaves game after being hit in leg by liner

DENVER (AP) -Colorado Rockies starter Aaron Cook left Wednesday night's game in the sixth inning after being struck in the lower right leg by a line drive hit by Cincinnati's Joey Votto.

Cook hobbled around the mound as the ball ricocheted toward catcher Miguel Olivo. After the team trainer and manager Jim Tracy spent several minutes with him on the mound, Cook walked off the field and into the clubhouse.

The team reported the injury as a bruise and said Cook left the park to get X-rays.

The right-hander allowed six hits and one run in five innings.
