Braves RHP Medlen hit on forearm
CINCINNATI (AP) -Atlanta Braves right-hander Kris Medlen was hit on the inside of his right forearm in the sixth inning and later left the game against Cincinnati for treatment.
Medlen was hit by a pitch from Johnny Cueto, loading the bases. Medlen was seen by a trainer, then went to first base. He slid hard into second on a forceout, then left the game. He'll be evaluated over the next few days to see how the forearm reacts.
Medlen has split time between the rotation and the bullpen for the NL East leaders, who have seen their seven-game lead cut in half during the past week by Philadelphia.
