Justin Wilson takes Toronto pole
TORONTO (AP) -Justin Wilson won his first IndyCar Series pole to end Team Penske's streak at eight, turning a series track-record lap of 104.827 mph Saturday on the 11-turn, 1.755-mile street circuit.
Wilson, the winner from the pole in the 2006 Champ Car race at the tight and bumpy Exhibition Place track, gave owner Dreyer and Reinbold its first IndyCar pole since Sarah Fisher led the field at Kentucky Speedway in 2002.
Penske's Will Power, the series leader and a three-time winner this season on street and road courses, qualified second at 104.505 mph. Teammate Helio Castroneves (103.887) was third, followed by Andretti Autosport's Ryan Hunter-Reay (103.847) and Chip Ganassi Racing's Dario Franchitti (103.663). Andretti's Danica Patrick (102.802) was 12th.
