Hildebrand gets 2 races in Conway's place
Defending Indy Lights champion J.R. Hildebrand will be the latest driver to fill in for Mike Conway at Dreyer&Reinbold Racing.
The 22-year-old driver from Sausalito, Calif., will drive Conway's No. 24 car at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on Aug. 8 and again at his hometown track Infineon Raceway on Aug. 22.
Dreyer&Reinbold have used several drivers to fill in for Conway, who suffered back and leg injuries in a horrific crash that sent him hurtling through the air at the Indianapolis 500.
Team co-owner Dennis Reinbold said Conway is out of a back brace and is expected to get the cast off his leg next week. Conway will get his car back when he's healthy and the team will have an extra car if he's ready by Infineon.
