Andretti signs Hunter-Reay to drive 4th car
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -Michael Andretti's IndyCar team has signed Ryan Hunter-Reay to drive a limited schedule in 2010 with the hope of making it a full-time ride.
Phillips-Van Heusen and its Izod brand will sponsor Hunter-Reay's No. 37 car, the fourth entry on Andretti's team this season. Izod also is the new title sponsor for the series.
Hunter-Reay will drive for Andretti Autosport in the Indianapolis 500 and other races. In a statement, Andretti said the team is still working on details to give Hunter-Reay a full schedule.
Hunter-Reay was the 2007 IndyCar rookie of the year and won his first IndyCar race at Watkins Glen in 2008.
Andretti's other drivers are Danica Patrick, 2004 points champion Tony Kanaan and Andretti's son, Marco.
