Regally Ready wins stakes at Santa Anita
ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) - Regally Ready defeated Leroy's Dynameaux by 13/4 lengths to win Friday's $79,150 Joe Hernandez Stakes at Santa Anita.
Ridden by Corey Nakatani, Regally Ready ran 61/2 furlongs on the downhill turf course in 1:12.98 and paid $3, $2.80 and $2.20 as the 1-2 favorite.
Leroy's Dynameaux returned $7.40 and $4.20, while Gallant Son was another half-length back in third and paid $3.40 to show.
Since switching to the turf in his eighth career start by trainer Steve Asmussen, Regally Ready has won three of four starts, including two straight on Santa Anita's course.
Asmussen is considering sending Regally Ready to run at the Royal Ascot meeting in England.
The victory, worth $47,490, increased Regally Ready's career earnings to $237,978, with five wins in 11 starts.
