Goombada Guska wins the Stymie
NEW YORK (AP) - Goombada Guska held off More Than a Reason by a half length Saturday to win the $61,750 Stymie Stakes at Aqueduct.
It was the fifth win in 19 starts for the 4-year-old colt bred in New Jersey and trained by Scott Volk. Jose Valdivia Jr. was aboard as he ran the 1 1-8 miles in 1:51.53 on the fast track.
Goombada Guska paid $7.10 and $6.20. More Than a Reason returned $8.30. Masala was third followed by Remand. There was no show wagering.
