Andretti, Petty to field Indy 500 car again
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Michael Andretti's Andretti Autosport is teaming with Richard Petty to field a car for his cousin John Andretti in the Indianapolis 500.
John Andretti will run in the Indy 500 for the third straight year on May 29 under a deal with Petty and sponsor Window World.
John Andretti will run the No. 43 Team Window World car. He has made 11 Indy 500 starts and finished fifth in 1991, but says “it never gets old to announce that you're going to run in the Indianapolis 500. “
The car's blue and red color scheme is modeled after the 1982 race-winning car of Gordon Johncock.
