West leaves Tulsa for Illini
TULSA, Okla. (AP) -Co-defensive coordinator Ron West has left Tulsa's football staff to become an assistant coach for Illinois.
Tulsa announced West's departure Monday, saying he would coach inside linebackers for the Illini. West had spent only one season at Tulsa after previously serving as defensive coordinator at Clemson.
Clarence James also resigned from Tulsa's staff after one season. He had been the Golden Hurricane's outside receivers coach and director of recruiting.
