USC DL Armond Armstead admitted to hospital
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Southern California coach Lane Kiffin says defensive lineman Armond Armstead is in a hospital to undergo tests for a medical condition.
Kiffin announced Armstead's hospitalization Friday night without disclosing the reason. The senior has been in USC University Hospital since Thursday.
Kiffin says Armstead is in great spirits and stable condition. The Sacramento native's family is with him, Kiffin adds.
Armstead made 43 tackles with three sacks last season. He decided in December to return for his senior season, when he's expected to start at defensive end for the Trojans.
