Syracuse to play 10 more games at Meadowlands
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - The Syracuse Orange have agreed to extend their relationship with New Meadowlands Stadium to include 10 more football games.
The Orange already are slated to play single games against Southern Cal and Penn State and two against Notre Dame in the next five years. The 10 additional games will be scheduled between 2019 and 2038.
Syracuse has a strong fan base in the region and athletic director Daryl Gross has targeted it for marketing. The Orange beat Kansas State 36-34 in the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium in late December.
Syracuse first visited the Meadowlands in 1979, playing Penn State and West Virginia while the Carrier Dome was under construction. The Orange are 5-3 at the Meadowlands.
