Notre Dame star receiver Floyd faces DUI charge
SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - Notre Dame wide receiver Michael Floyd has been arrested by campus police accused of drunken driving.
St. Joseph County Sheriff's Sgt. William Redman says Floyd was booked into the county jail in South Bend about 4 a.m. Sunday.
Redman says Floyd was released several hours later on $500 bond.
A university spokesman did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment Monday.
The 21-year-old Floyd was Notre Dame's leading receiver last season and is one of the top receivers in school history. He decided to return for his senior season instead of entering the NFL draft.
Spring practices start Wednesday. Floyd is scheduled to appear in court on May 2.
