No. 12 Wisconsin ready to run against UNLV
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -New UNLV coach Bobby Hauck says no team was able to stop No. 12 Wisconsin's power running attack featuring junior standout John Clay last season.
It'll be a stiff first test for UNLV on Saturday night. The former Montana coach inherited one of the worst run defenses in the country that gave up 220.6 yards per game.
Clay, last year's Big Ten offensive player of the year, will run behind an offensive line that averages 323 pounds and includes standout left tackle Gabe Carimi and left guard John Moffitt.
The 255-pound junior running back is coming off surgeries to both ankles in the offseason, and he says he's ready to prove that he's healthy and can carry the Badgers to another successful season after last year's 10-3 run.
