Monken cramming to learn Oklahoma State's offense

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) - Todd Monken's first days as the new offensive coordinator have been filled with lots of learning from all-conference quarterback Brandon Weeden.

Monken left his job as an assistant with the Jacksonville Jaguars to replace Dana Holgorsen, and he's learning the Holgorsen's offense on the fly instead of bringing in his own attack from the NFL.

Oklahoma State, which ranked third in the nation in scoring and total offense last season, started spring football practice Monday.

Monken compared his first three weeks on the job to “cramming for a test.” He's made few changes to the offense at this point but says he eventually will make it his own.
