Michigan QB Robinson aims for focus at Notre Dame
ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) -Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson vows to stay focused during Notre Dame week.
Good luck, Shoelace.
The speedy QB with the solid arm and catchy nickname ran for 197 yards and a touchdown and threw for 186 yards and another score in the season-opening rout over Connecticut.
Robinson's dazzling day was witnessed by the largest crowd to watch a football game. Many more people will tune in Saturday to watch him against the Fighting Irish on network TV.
Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez says how Robinson played in his first start reminded him of some of Pat White's performances at West Virginia.
The sophomore from Deerfield Beach, Fla., has been known as Shoelace since he was 7 because he never ties the laces on his cleats.
