Iowa WR McNutt to miss spring practice
IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz says wide receiver Marvin McNutt will miss spring practice because of a shoulder injury.
Ferentz says he expects McNutt, a senior from St. Louis, to be back to full speed by June.
McNutt is slated to be Iowa's main target in 2011 after catching 53 passes for 861 yards and eight touchdowns last season. The Hawkeyes lost a pair of senior wideouts in Derrell Johnson-Koulianos and Colin Sandeman and standout tight end Allen Reisner.
Ferentz also says linebacker Shane DiBona, safety Tanner Miller and defensive lineman Steve Bigach will be held out of spring practice because of injuries.
Iowa, which finished 8-5 last season, opened spring practice on Wednesday.
