-Central Michigan quarterback Dan LeFevour became the Mid-American Conference's all-time leader in total offense during the Chippewas' 29-27 upset of Michigan State. LeFevour surpassed Byron Leftwich's record of 12,084 yards on a 12-yard TD pass to Kito Poblah that tied the game 20-20, and LeFevour now has 12,166 yards of total offense.

-Wisconsin tailback John Clay rushed for 143 yards - more than half of it on a 72-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter - as the Badgers held off Fresno State 34-31 in double overtime.

-Duke quarterback Sean Renfree connected for a 17-yard touchdown on the first pass of his college career as the Blue Devils beat Army 35-19.

-UCLA kicker Kai Forbath made four field goals as the Bruins defeated Tennessee 19-15 in Knoxville.

-Houston quarterback Case Keenum threw for 366 yards and three touchdowns as the Cougars stunned No. 5 Oklahoma State 45-35. Keenum outplayed Oklahoma State quarterback Zac Robinson, who lost a fumble and had an interception returned for a touchdown.

In a game that ranks among the best in their storied rivalry, Michigan rallied to beat No. 18 Notre Dame 38-34 on an five-yard touchdown pass from Tate Forcier to Greg Mathews with 11 seconds to play. The game had four lead changes, two in the final six minutes. The Wolverines rallied after Notre Dame took a 34-31 lead with 5:13 left on Jimmy Clausen's third touchdown pass and a Statue of Liberty play for a 2-point conversion.

Last week, Oklahoma State beat Georgia for one of the biggest wins in its history. The fifth-ranked Cowboys apparently spent too much time reading their clippings - they were featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated - and not enough time prepping for Houston. The Cowboys fell to the Cougars 45-35, committing three turnovers and eight penalties.

A big weekend for the Mid-American Conference started when Toledo drilled Dan Hawkins' Colorado Buffaloes 54-38 on national television Thursday night. On Saturday, Central Michigan rallied to beat Michigan State 29-27 in East Lansing. After recovering a perfect onside kick by Andrew Aguila, the Chippewas won it on Aguila's 42-yard field goal with three seconds. Aguila missed from 47 yards, but the Spartans jumped offside. Meanwhile, lowly Eastern Michigan rallied from a 21-point deficit before losing to Northwestern 27-24 on a 49-yard field goal by Stefan Demos in the closing seconds.

UCLA's 19-15 victory over Tennessee wasn't very pretty, but the Bruins will take it. UCLA won despite committing nine penalties and mustering fewer than 200 yards of total offense. The Bruins also fumbled six times but recovered five of them. The key play: UCLA stuffed Volunteers tailback Montario Hardesty on fourth-and-goal at the UCLA 2 with two minutes to play.

“I don't get nervous. I've been preparing for this my whole life. It's like nothing new to me.” - Michigan freshman quarterback Tate Forcier after throwing the winning touchdown pass with 11 seconds left to beat No. 18 Notre Dame 38-34.

In a matchup that would be far more interesting in the Final Four, No. 19 North Carolina went on a late 12-0 run to beat Connecticut 12-10. The Tar Heels won it with a safety with 1:32 to play. The Huskies are 1-14 against the Top 25. ... Washington ended the nation's longest losing streak at 15 games with a 42-23 win over Idaho in Seattle. Jake Locker threw for 253 yards and three touchdowns and ran for a fourth score as the Huskies won for the first time since Nov. 17, 2007, when they beat California. ... No. 2 Texas trailed Wyoming 10-6 late in the first half in Laramie, but the Longhorns ripped off the next 35 points to coast to a 41-10 win. Colt McCoy was shaky early but finished with 337 passing yards and three touchdowns. He also threw an interception.
