Oakland defeats IPFW 71-58 for 10th straight win
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -Blake Cushingberry scored a season-high 23 points and Keith Benson added 17 points, 17 rebounds and six blocks as Oakland, Mich., defeated IPFW 71-58 in the semifinals of the Summit League tournament Monday night.
The top-seeded Golden Grizzlies (25-8) broke the school record for wins in a season and consecutive wins with their 10th straight.
Nick Daniels scored 16 points and Antwone Snead had 11 points and 12 rebounds for the fifth-seeded Mastodons (16-15).
Oakland took full control of the game late the second half with a 16-2 run that gave the Grizzlies a 63-47 lead with 2:14 to play. Cushingberry hit two 3-pointers and scored 10 points during the deciding run.
Oakland went 19 for 19 from the free throw line to set a school record, while IPFW shot only one free throw.
