Ga. Tech hiring Dayton's Gregory as new coach
ATLANTA (AP) - Dayton coach Brian Gregory is taking the Georgia Tech job.
Dayton's athletic department sent out a notice Monday morning on Twitter confirming Gregory was leaving to coach the Yellow Jackets, who fired Paul Hewitt shortly after the school's fourth losing season in six years.
The tweet said: “We wish BG and his family good luck.”
Georgia Tech officials would not comment, pending official approval of Gregory's contract. The school was preparing to hold a late afternoon news conference.
The Dayton Daily News initially reported that Gregory was leaving the Flyers.
